A few considerations when thinking about investing in Scholars Choice:
As with any mutual fund investment, we cannot guarantee returns. Your investment in a Scholars Choice account is placed in a pool that invests in the mutual fund portfolios we just looked at. The performance of those funds depends on the performance of the securities in which the funds invest.
Once you’ve selected an investment option, that option will stand throughout the life of the account. This is actually a federal regulation -- that account owners of Section 529 plans not be able to direct the assets in the account. It does not prevent you, however, from opening more than one Scholars Choice account with different investment options for a single beneficiary.
Finally, the allocations we just reviewed are target allocations, and can vary by 5 to 10%.
